Upcoming Shows

Whenever the warden lets us out for good behavior, we try to get our instruments in tune and play.  Here is what is coming up.

New

Upcoming Show: Geoff will be playing a solo show on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the University of Pennsylvania's Morris Arboretum in Philadelphia.  The performance will take place at the Compton Cafe, where Chef Josh Hunter has a Memphis BBQ planned.  Geoff starts at 6:00 and should run out of gas by about 7:30, but he'll cram a lot of finger style blues guitar into the intervening hour and a half.  Expect a healthy dose of originals from the "Pilgrim's Progress" album and 2014's Dirt Track Racer CD, "Kick Off Your Muddy Boots."  Geoff will also play some favorites from Rev. Gary Davis, Blind Blake, Willie McTell and Jesse Fuller.  Geoff's planning on having fun; so should you.  Come on out and make an evening of it!

Previous Show: Geoff and Paul will be performing a set at the Morris Arboretum in Philadelphia, as part of their "Date Night" series, Wednesday, July 22, 2015, from 6:00-7:00.  Monique Canniere will join us on violin for the second half of our set, and then we'll make way for her band to take the stage as she introduces tracks from her new album, "Preachin' to the Choir."  We have some old classics lined up, along side tracks from "Kick Off Your Muddy Boots."  We'll also feature a few songs destined for a band produced CD on which we have just started, tentatively titled "Ghosts in Blue."  This will be a fun and laid back show for us and the Arboretum will be laying out a specially prepared fare from Chef Josh Hunter at their own Compton Cafe.  Bring a date and enjoy the show!  We'll be lookin' for ya!

Previous Show: Geoff will be playing a solo set at Puck Live! in Doylestown, Pa. on Thursday, November 13, 2014, as part of their Local Artists Spotlight Series.  The band will be at Puck two nights later, but this will be a chance to reach into the back catalog for some old time Piedmont blues numbers as well as songs from "Pilgrim's Progress," "Kick Off Your Muddy Boots" and the soon to be recorded "One Way Ticket."  Puck Live! is a great little venue with a fine sound system, so do make a point of coming out in support of local artists.  Hope to see you there!  If my fingers are cooperating, I'll probably take a stab at Blind Blake's, "He's In The Jailhouse Now," always a fan favorite!

Previous Show: Dirt Track Racer will be playing at Puck Live! in Doylestown on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 8:00p.m. with our great friend, Monique Canniere guesting on violin and vocals.  The plan is to feature songs from the "Pilgrim's Progress" CD, our current CD, "Kick Off Your Muddy Boots," and some cuts from the upcoming CD, "One Way Ticket."  Put it on the calendar and make it a date!  This is a Philadelphia Folksong Society event and we will share the bill with the Edge Hill Rounders.  See you there!

Previous Show:  Geoff and the Band will be opening the Lansdale Lunchtime Concert Series for this fall with a show on Wednesday, September 3rd, at noon in Lansdale, Pa.'s Railroad Plaza.  We're working out the set now and will feature songs from Kick Off Your Muddy Boots along with tracks destined for the next album and a couple very cool covers.  Come on out, hear the band and stick around to say "Hello."  We'd love to see you there!

Gary Davis, Blind Blake, Willie McTell and other luminaries of the Piedmont Blues.  The Mermaid is known for its fine selection of Craft Beers and the great down home vibe of an establishment that is the oldest continually operated Inn in the country.  It is a great sounding, intimate room in the heart of Olde Chestnut Hill.  Be there or be square!
